It was the end of 2014 and I had just returned from Ireland, where I was improving my English. Upon returning home, I was faced with the question of where I would direct my life now. The plan was clear: I would find a job within a month. And if not, I'd fly overseas. And then the phone rang...
"Hello, we'd like to invite you to a job interview at Codaco."
On the other end of the phone was a prospective colleague with an invitation to an interview. I was so taken aback that at first I didn't even realize there was a Codaco in our town, let alone that I had sent my resume there.

On the day of the interview, I was more nervous than I'd like to admit.
It was my very first job interview.
When I walked into the company, I was impressed by the modern, clean environment. Daniel Nachtigal, who conducted the interview, made an equally good and serious impression on me. I remember he reminded me of my father in his demeanor. This helped me to relax a little from the tension.
The second round of the interview was more serious. All four executives and my potential supervisor, Jirka Flodr, sat in front of me. It was clear that I was not just another number in the system for them, but that they really cared about who they hired.
And then... a phone call.
"We're hiring you!"
That very afternoon, they called me that I had got the position and that I could start. I was very happy. I had just gotten my first job. And my young life took a brighter turn.

"I was originally supposed to be a designer. Before I started, we agreed that I would be a sales assistant."

When I joined, Codaco was in the process of combining its manufacturing and sales divisions. I was the first sales assistant ever.
Since the position was brand new in the company, it didn't have clear definitions yet. So I went through the adaptation process in my own way. I took it as a challenge and tried to build the sales department into a solid pillar.
I've always believed that the best way to learn something is to just jump in and swim. So I swam, and I can swim well!
Since then, my role has changed. After returning from maternity leave, I added budgets, customer care and production planning for communications systems to my business administration.
"I enjoy how varied the work is - no routine, no boredom"
Codaco is not just a company,
it's a team
It is not a corporate company and because of the family ties, there is a family atmosphere which is reflected in the company relationships.
Support when you need it
like when I was on maternity leave with two kids. The company held my job, and that's often not a given.
The boss who cares
Jirka is not the most organized (that's what we are here for!), but his willingness and human approach are above standard.
Great colleagues
when I need help, I know I can just say, "Luky, tech, can I?" And Luke is already getting up from his work to explain things to me.
And then there's the humor.
Because when you spend eight hours a day in the office, it's important to laugh. They say our sales department is too loud - but what can you do when you have a group of people with the same sense of humour.
Those who want to, find a way. Those who don’t, find excuses. To me, “can’t” simply isn’t a word.
Why am I still here?
Every day brings something different, you interact with different customers on different events, and working with colleagues is a joy. And when a customer calls me back to say they were happy with our solution? That's the best motivation for me
